Today, and this weekend, we take time out of our busy schedules to take a deep, long and glaring look into the most important historical event of all eternity – the death, burial and resurrection of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christ voluntarily laid down His life for us. He died so we can live and not merely exist. Now we can live free from guilt and condemnation.
Real forgiveness is a beautiful thing. Most people never grow up in a family that practices grace and forgiveness. God’s brand of forgiveness is total and complete. When God forgives – He forgets. On your computer you have a “Recycle Bin” where you can move unwanted document to until you want to retrieve them . We tend to have a recycle bin in our lives and we move our guilt there only to go dumpster diving whenever we want to heap condemnation on ourselves. Perhaps we allow others in our lives to retrieve valuable information, when warranted, from our “Recycle Bin.” Your computer has another function called “delete.” With this key you can remove the “Stuff” that is in your recycle bin. When you press the delete key a message appears on the screen. It says, “Are you sure you want to delete these items?” You press “yes” and presto- they are gone. Because of Christ’s atoning work on Calvary our recycle bin can be cleared and cleaned. The beautiful thing about God’s forgiveness is it is permanent.
Just a thought!
