On the eve of 9/11 I send out a special thanks to all the first responders; you’re our heroes, along with a prayer on behalf of all the survivors and victims’ families of that fateful day nine years ago.
I returned from Bogotá, Colombia this past Monday. It was a highly impactful trip. The team and I helped train over 500 leaders who in return are touching thousands for Christ. On our return flight home (we were on our last leg from Dallas to Lubbock). We received an announcement that the flight was being delayed due to an overweight issue. They needed one volunteer to give up their seat and in return they would receive a $500 voucher. Apparently the overweight plane posed a significant enough problem that it would remain grounded until its weight issue was resolved. How many times do we find ourselves grounded in life due to unnecessary burdens that are weighing us down? Do you have any weight you need to shed? The Bible says, “lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us” (Hebrews 12:1). God desires for all of us to be the “Biggest Loser” when it comes to losing the weight of past hurts, failures or disappointments. Far too many believers are grounded in life and unable to mount up with wings as eagles soaring to new heights because they are weighed down and miss their rendezvous with destiny. This weekend we are beginning our new series on the Parables of Jesus called Life Stories Told by Jesus Lived by You. Our first installment will be on forgiveness from the parable of the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18. I promise if you come you’ll shed some weight.
Just a thought,
